Kayla & Matthew
Matthew have known each other since they were about ten years old, it wasn’t until their later teenage years that Matthew finally got the nerve to ask Kayla’s cousin for her number. Matthew asked her out, she accepted, and the rest is history.
“It was definitely love at first sight for both of us. Ever since we have been little kids, just the sight of him brings butterflies to my stomach, still to this day!” shared Kayla.
It was the weekend after her birthday in October that the couple went to Wrightsville Beach to take her dog swimming one last time before it started to get cold. After a visit to downtown, and Matthew being a bit ‘high strung’, they picked up lunch and headed back to the beach. They sat, talked and laughed for hours until the sun was starting to set. They took a walk to the end of the secluded beach where Matthew got down on one knee and asked Kayla to marry him.
Kayla and Matthew planned their southern elegant wedding at Moore’s Springs Manor because they are from a southern town and wanted to stick with what felt like home.
Their wedding colors were blush pink and slate blue. Kayla picked these colors because she felt they complimented each other well and wanted a light and simple, yet elegant feel.
“We could not have picked a more beautiful day or a more perfect venue! The weather was around 71 degrees and there was not a cloud in the sky. We had our closest family and friends by our side as we became husband and wife. The whole day and evening everything went perfectly. The food, the music, the laughter, the cake, all the love…I literally could just go on and on. A smile never left our faces the entire day and continued as we danced the night away,” said Kayla.
“The most unique element to our wedding was the mountains that stood behind us during our ceremony and all the subtle southern charm elements, such as signs and table decor. Our day was truly magical.”
