Hannah & Matt
Matt, a radio DJ at 107.5KZL, first met Hannah when he was working with her mother at a fabric company. The two volunteered for the Special Olympics and Hannah messaged Matt on Facebook that night suggesting they hang out sometime. They had their first date at Sir Pizza in High Point and have been together ever since.
Matt took Hannah to Oak Hollow Lake, where they had volunteered for the Special Olympics together, telling her he needed to meet a friend to give him his GoPro camera to borrow for a music event. Little did Hannah know that his friend would play their song, “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison, on the guitar while Matt prepared to ask her the most important question of their lives. Matt had put together a picture collage from their relationship with a note on top that said, “I have a question for you.” When Hannah turned around, Matt was on one knee, with a proposal, and it was all caught on camera with the GoPro.
The couple described their wedding day as “magical”. With an eclectic and vintage theme, they used old, mix-matched china, vintage furniture, old re-finished church pews, a beautiful arbor with a chandelier in the middle, and a fireplace mantle behind their sweetheart table. Hannah also had a broach bouquet created with broaches that were all given to her by family and friends.
Hannah wanted to sing to Matt at their wedding, however she didn't think she would be able to without crying the whole time. Her mom knows a man with a recording studio, so Hannah recorded herself singing “Look at Me” by Carrie Underwood, and walked down the aisle to her singing it to Matt.
When asked if they could change one thing about their wedding day, the couple replied, “We would have gotten married earlier so we could party longer! It was the best day ever!”
