Kellie & Jarett
KELLIE MET JARETT at the baseball field. They were both in college at UNC Greensboro when Kellie’s best friend forced her into going to the baseball game.
“Boy, am I glad she did! When I first saw Kellie I was running into the locker room after the game. I remember exactly what she was wearing and that smile was engraved in me. She was breathtaking and I knew I had to have her.
That day was the first day to the rest of our lives. From that day forward we were inseparable,” said Jarett.
“Love at first site? YES! It does exist! I first saw Jarett running on to the field to throw. I went crazy and had to meet him. I was already in love. The baseball pants may have been a small factor,” laughed Kellie.
With their puppy in tow, the couple had planned a trip to the beach to have a little getaway together before Jarett had to leave for spring training. When they arrived and discovered they had been given the wrong room, one that was not pet-friendly, Jarett was freaking out and flustered.
“He never gets this way, but little did I know he was about to propose. That day we were playing fetch on the beach with our puppy. We were throwing a ball back and forth down the beach with her. Jarett yelled, ‘Let’s throw it one more time and go inside.’ The last throw he threw was a baseball and when I went to pick it up it said, ‘Marry Me?’ When I turned around, he was down on one knee with the most gorgeous ring I could’ve imagined. It was more than perfect and a day we both will never forget,” remembered Kellie.
“Our wedding day was unbelievable! It was a fairy tale. Knowing that you are about to marry your best friend and soul mate was already enough. We had people from all over there that supported and loved us so much. Walking down the aisle was like floating on clouds. Seeing Jare’s face as his bride, saying our I Do’s and becoming one. It was all more than we dreamt. The best day of our lives!”
Held at Proximity Hotel, their winter wedding had a baseball theme and all the beautiful details were captured by the talented Traci Arney from Traci Arney Photography.
With the help of their event designer, Michelle Wright of Michelle Wright Events, their setting included blush, grey, and champagne tones. The couple wanted to make the celebration fun not only for them, but also for their guests, so they had baseball bats as guest books, a baseball cake created by Maxie B’s and Kellie’s garter featured the Atlanta Braves, of course. And, with music provided by Triad DJ & Events and a photobooth provided by Triad Photobooth Rental, the fun was even more elevated.
Their most unique element of the day…they both wore Chuck Taylors! “This screamed us! He wore black; I wore white,” added Kellie.
Kellie’s Chuck Taylors were the perfect personal touch with her stunning gown from Divas Boutique and Bridal.
When asked if there was anything they would change about their wedding day, Kellie replied, “Change? Never! It was a dream wedding for us and more!”
